Enniskillen lost the Minor League Final in Kinawley last night.Congraulations to Belnaleck. Injuries played it part in both the build up and during the match with Paul Mullan and Michael Gordon McBride retiring injured. A brave effort and certainly plenty to look forward to in the championship. |

Enniskillen 2.13 Erne Gaels 0-6
Enniskillen Minors travelled to Ederney to face a tough battle from Erne Gaels. Playing in their "away" strip Enniskillen got exactly what they expected a tough, physical battle from the Belleek side. After a nervous opening ten minutes which saw Erne Gaels take an early 2 point lead, Enniskillen started to get to grips with their opponents and settled into their game plan with points from Greg Tierney and Conor McAleer (3) and Gavin McGinn. These scores settled Enniskillen but did not break the spirt of the opposition who battled hard all over the field and made openings of their own but some stern defending from Rico Ledwith and Niall Shannon kept their attacks at bay. A penalty late in the 1st half which was put away by Sean Corrigan had Enniskillen leading 1.07 to 0.04 at half time. Christopher Sheridan was introduced at half time as Enniskillen upped the tempo and pulled further ahead with points from Sean Swift, Sean Corrigan. Enniskillen's 2nd goal came from Nathan Green who was introduced from the bench after 40mins. Further changes throughout the half saw, Kirk West Alex Harvey and Fintain Masterson introduced and all 3 playing important roles in the win. Enniskillen did not have it all their own way in his 2nd half with Erne Gaels continuing to push forward looking for scores but a tight unit reduced the opposition to just 2 points, Gary Lynch in goals had a quiet evening but did pull off an excellent saved when called upon late in the game. Next up in the Championship is a 1/4 Final meeting against A'drumsee this Friday 11th June venue TBC |
